Nomada, the newest concept from Skopos Hospitality, brings a modern yet intimate take on Mexican cuisine to Verona, NJ. Inspired by the relaxed aesthetics of Tulum and the bold, lavish energy of 1980s Acapulco, the restaurant needed a brand identity that reflected its vibrant yet sophisticated atmosphere. I worked closely with the Skopos team to create a full branding package, a visually engaging Squarespace website, custom interior signage, and beautifully designed business cards and menus—ensuring every touchpoint aligned seamlessly with the restaurant's ambiance.
For the branding, I drew inspiration from the interior mood board provided by Skopos’ Creative Director, incorporating ocean-weathered typography with soft edges and a feminine icon. The color palette was designed to harmonize with the restaurant’s décor, evoking the warmth and elegance of a coastal retreat.
The Squarespace website features an intuitive layout with seamless integration of online booking, an elegantly displayed menu in interactive dropdowns, and stunning photography that captures the restaurant’s atmosphere, food, and cocktails. SEO optimization ensures Nomada ranks well in local searches, making it easy for new guests to discover.
In addition to branding and web design, I developed interior signage, including custom bathroom signs, a no-smoking sign, and a choking assistance sign. The business cards and menus maintain the brand’s signature aesthetic, incorporating hand-drawn taco and margarita illustrations alongside playful border elements that highlight special menu sections. These print materials were designed for easy in-house printing to accommodate frequent menu updates.
Nomada’s grand opening was met with enthusiasm, drawing in a crowd eager to experience the unique blend of flavors and design. Skopos Hospitality provided glowing feedback on the branding and website, with minimal revisions needed throughout the process.
