Herbs & Therapy is the practice of Marcia “Mars” Senatus, a New Jersey-based massage therapist and herbalist. Mars combines massage therapy with Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture to offer a holistic, healing experience. For this project, I crafted a brand identity that reflects Mars' unique, hands-on approach to therapy, blending calming, nurturing elements with a sense of personalized care. The logo features a hand holding an herb, representing the integration of massage and traditional healing practices. The result is a cohesive brand that conveys trust, relaxation, and holistic wellness.
The brand identity for Herbs & Therapy was designed to evoke a sense of calm, holistic healing, and nurturing care—essential qualities for a wellness practice that prioritizes a tailored, personal approach to each client. The logo, a hand gently holding an herb, perfectly encapsulates this ethos, blending symbols of massage and traditional Chinese medicine. The hand-drawn feel of the logo further emphasizes Mars' hands-on approach to therapy, underscoring the custom nature of each treatment she offers.
Mars’ target audience is individuals who seek more than just a standard massage; they are looking for a comprehensive healing experience that blends physical therapy with holistic practices. This audience values Mars' unique ability to integrate different healing modalities, and the branding reflects this specialized offering with a tranquil, nurturing visual identity.
Mars, a visual person herself, had a clear vision for the business but trusted my professional expertise throughout the process.
In addition to the logo and website, we created a simple but essential letterhead template for client questionnaires. This piece helps to maintain a consistent, professional look when communicating with clients prior to sessions, further reinforcing the brand’s dedication to organization and personalized care.
